How is the price calculated?
Straight hourly, from the moment we arrive to the moment the last item is placed. Two hour minimum, then billed by the half hour. The truck, blankets, dollies, straps and fuel inside our service area are already in the rate.
Is it really only $10 more for a third mover?
Yes. Two movers with our truck is $150 an hour, three is $160. A third pair of hands usually cuts a house move by about a third, so on anything bigger than a small apartment the full crew costs less in total. We will tell you honestly which one suits your place.
Do I have to pack before you arrive?
Only if you want to. If you are packing yourself, have everything boxed and taped before we show up, because loose items slow a move more than anything else. If you would rather not, we can come the day before with all the materials.
Do you charge extra for stairs?
No. Stairs and elevator waits simply take longer, and since we bill by the hour that is already reflected in the estimate. We would rather give you an honest hour range up front than add a line item on the day.
What if something gets damaged?
We are insured, and we handle any claim directly rather than sending you to a third party. In practice the answer is that everything gets blanket wrapped before it leaves the room, which is why it rarely comes up.
How far ahead should I book?
Two to three weeks is comfortable. The last weekend of the month and the first of the next are the busiest days in Ontario, so book those four to six weeks out. Mid month weekdays are easier to get.
Do you speak French?
Yes. Call, write or book in either language and you will get the same crew and the same rate.
